How we met

It all began on Hinge with a simple prompt: Jess declared her favorite drink to be chocolate milk. Unable to resist, Josh slid into her messages with a pressing question: "Do you prefer your chocolate milk store-bought or homemade?" Jess replied without hesitation, "Homemade or nothing!" That exchange stirred more than just cocoa powder. We've talked every day since, bonding over our shared love for the perfect glass of homemade chocolate milk. From late-night conversations to countless chocolatey cheers, who knew that a sweet beverage could lead to something even sweeter? We're excited to continue sharing life's simple pleasures together—and maybe a few more glasses of chocolate milk along the way!

Proposal Story

From the moment I decided to propose to Jess, I knew I wanted it to be a private and a personal experience. One of our most cherished memories began on an early movie date. After the film ended, as we stood to leave, Jess noticed something in my seat. She picked it up and asked if it was mine. To our surprise, it was a $100 bill! Initially, I honestly said it wasn't mine, but then, catching on to the moment, I jokingly claimed it. In the end, she kept the $100, and ever since, searching each other's seats after a movie became our little tradition—hoping to find some more cash. Going to the movies became our regular date night, dressed in our sweats, filled with snacks, laughter and that playful seat-checking ritual. When planning the proposal, I wanted to incorporate this special inside joke. I decided to pop the question at the movies, using our tradition as the perfect setup. To ensure the moment was just for us, I rented out a theater. As we drove to the theater, nerves began to set in. Jess held my hand and remarked, "Your hands are clammy." Blaming it on the rainy weather, I tried to hide my anxious excitement. We settled into our seats with our usual snacks—mozzarella sticks and popcorn. When the movie ended, we performed our customary seat-check. As Jess searched her seat, I retrieved the ring and pretended to find something in hers. Dropping to one knee, all the rehearsed words vanished from my mind, but I managed to ask the most important question: "Will you marry me?" Unbeknownst to Jess, I had coordinated with the theater staff to keep the proposal a surprise. A photographer, posing as a fellow moviegoer seated in front of us, captured the entire moment. Those photos are now part of our wedding website's gallery. After the joyful tears and a mini photoshoot, we capped off the night with games and laughter at Dave & Buster's.
