At a Pixar exhibit, aimed at children, Emily and Robert had their first date. It was arranged that we would each have a friend with us but Robert's friend bailed at the last moment. A slightly awkward experience for Robert to say the least but something clicked and the rest is history.

On September 4th, 2021, Robert popped the question on Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis on their 4 year anniversary. Robert's friend Louis flew in to get it all on camera. They celebrated big with Insomnia Cookies and a ride on the ferris wheel at Betty Danger's. A year and some later, the two are set to be married in Saint Paul.
