Robbie and I connected at our dear mutual friend, Melissa's birthday party in mid-December 2015. (Fun-fact: Melissa is our Maid of Honor!) We had both attended other parties, barbecues and local events in the years prior to our formal introduction, but we never actually spoke to each other until that evening! It’s hard to say who was interested first because the attraction was mutual, but according to Melissa, that particular night was a set-up in which Robbie was fully complicit, (even though he denies it with a big grin on his face to this day). Rumor has it that Robbie recognized my profile on a dating app a few weeks before and asked Melissa for a formal introduction once he realized I’d be at her birthday party! Over the past 5 years, what began as butterflies and flirtacious banter has developed into a deeply loving partnership and friendship. We have different interests and hobbies (Robbie loves fast cars and things that go ‘BOOM’ and I’m a houseplant-loving hairstylist), however the foundation of our relationship isn’t that “we think alike” but rather that “we think together”. We cheer for each other. We lift each other up. We don’t patronize one another. Robbie has a gentle way of bringing me back to earth when I have my head in the clouds for too long, and I’ve learned how to tenderly communicate with Robbie when he’s feeling vulnerable. We listen fully, we love unconditionally, and we respect one another completely. We got engaged at a dinner with his incredible parents, Chip and Kathy, on February 15th, 2020. Neither one of us remember exactly what he said, but it was perfectly understated and joyously sweet, just like Robbie! We are so excited to begin this new chapter of our lives together as a married couple and we are eager to celebrate our wedding with our families and friends on September 10th, 2020. Please check this website regularly for wedding updates and we can’t wait to see you soon! Big hugs and lots of love, Sarah and Robbie
