They went on a late night shopping spree at Walmart. Galivanting down the frozen dessert aisle, he watched her just be her jovial, silly self. He relished the fact that they could be their genuine selves around each other. He thought, "I can see me being with her for a long time."

He bought the ring while they were cruising with friends. He showed the best friends the ring without her being any wiser. Once they made it back on American soil, they drove up the East Coast from Miami to Fairfax. At every stop, he revealed the ring to family and friends with her being none the wiser. He made reservations for their dating anniversary dinner and coordinated with his brother to take candid shots of the proposal. The night came. Dinner was splendid and was followed up with ice cream from Jeni's. After leaving the establishment, he feigned dropping the keys and proceeded to propose while revealing the ring.
