After matching on Hinge and spending a couple of weeks messaging back and forth, Ben told LeEllen “I’m really enjoying our conversation BTW 🙂”. LeEllen responded (eventually, after Ben sent another prompt) and said, “I am also enjoying our chat.” and then asked Ben if he’d like to meet for a “coffee or a drink after work?” Ben enthusiastically agreed to meet for a drink and then kindly offered to let LeEllen pick the location so she’d feel comfortable meeting a stranger from the internet. LeEllen gave Ben two options and he selected Edley’s because, he said, “there’s a part of me that would love the lifetime of hazing I would get for taking a pretty woman on a first date to a BBQ restaurant. 🙃🙃🙃” And so on a cold Thursday in November 2022, LeEllen and Ben met at Edley’s for a drink, that turned into a two-hour dinner. 🥰

Ben and LeEllen returned to Edley’s for a date night and then headed home to watch a show together. After finishing the second season of Welcome to Wrexham, Ben had to go “grab something from the truck”, and returned with a question of what is this over here? Prompting LeEllen off the couch and into the hallway. Seeing the ring box in Ben’s hand she retreated, trying to act casual like she hadn’t seen it, but knowing “it’s happening” and in her excitement became very indecisive on what she should do - sit or stand. And the next thing she knew, Ben was on one knee and then she was saying “Yes! A thousand times Yes!”
