We are in such a hard time right now. We love you all for the support and thoughts. We are still moving forward with the wedding. We are going to do our best to keep everyone safe. If you will not feel safe, we understand if you cannot make it. If you have had any symptoms at all in the past 20 days (cough, sore throat, fever, congestion) we would appreciate it if you don’t come for the safety of our family. We will have hand sanitizer, & masks for those of you that want to come but that want added protection! There will be limited seating at the church, there will be overflow seating at the reception venue across the street from the church where the ceremony will be live streamed. For those who would love to be there but feel uncomfortable you may also join our ceremony by streaming our ceremony through the Lee & Goble Wedding Facebook Group Page.
It happened just how I always pictured it should. He didn’t stick my ring in a flute of champange, or in my dinner. No, it happened just like this. We went to feed my horses before meeting his friends for dinner. I turned on my and my horses favorite murder podcast. Hay, muder, whinnies, and gory details. I was trying to get the hay nets carabiner off the bucket strap, Dustin is beside me saying how much he loves feeding the horses with me, and Patrick (my gelding) is there supervising how fast I can get hay in his net. I’m still working and I say to Dustin, the least you could do is undo the hay net so all I have to do is put hay in it. I turn to look at Dustin and he says to me, I love feeding the horses with you so much, will you be my feeding partner for life? He pulls the most beautiful ring out of his pocket and gets down on his knee, my annoyance that he was not doing what I asked quickly disappears as I answer him with an, I will! He stands up and grabs my right hand and goes to slip the ring on my finger, his hands shaking, I say, wrong hand. So he quickly grabs my left hand and slides the ring on my ring finger. We hug and kiss and enjoy the moment. Reality sets in, Patrick is still hungry. I turn to go into the shed and get hay for Patrick and Dustin says to me, you want me to hold on to that ring for you? I don’t want you to lose it or break it! I clutch my ring to my chest and said, boy it’s taken me five years to get this ring on this finger, like hell if I am taking this off ever! No we didn’t get engaged on a tropical beach at sunset, my name never flashed across the jumbotron at a baseball game, “Kimberly will you marry me?” He sure as heck did not propose while accepting his All-Around Trophy at the NFR. But I would never in a million years ever trade our proposal for any of those though! We got engaged just as I always hoped we would, in the middle of the barnyard, listening to my murder podcast, surrounded by my horses, doing chores together!
