After matching online, our first date was over boba at Tea Era in Mountain View on a mild December afternoon. Conversation felt easy and we talked about friends, family, travel and our favorite TV shows. For Labor Day weekend, we flew out to Chicago for a friend's wedding. It was our first time together in my hometown and it was great to explore the city and suburbs. On Labor Day morning, we headed up to the suburbs for brunch with my parents and we picked up my mom's favorite doughnuts on Leeann's suggestion to bring for them to snack on. It was just another one of those small but incredibly thoughtful gestures that make Leeann special! -- Linus

I headed to Berkeley on a Sunday morning with some friends for a birthday brunch (or so I thought). After we picked up coffee at a cafe, my friend Karen handed me a card, which I discovered to be the first clue of several in a scavenger hunt that Linus had planned around the UC Berkeley campus. Each clue was a clever pun on a landmark's name, which eventually led me to the Hearst Mining Building. Inside, I found a trail of rose petals, my parents (and grandfather!), and Linus standing in the middle of the lobby. Needless to say, it was a proposal I'll never forget. -- Leeann
