How We Met

LGH - 2023

I began working at LGH as a PCH, wearing that red, ugly polo shirt, not knowing anyone on my first day. When I first met Lee, I didn’t like him—but as time went on, I realized how easy he was to talk to. Lee worked early mornings as a runner for breakfast, taking care of all the ER patients, Three West, and Dishwashing Station. Anyone who knows me knows I am not a morning person. But every morning, I would drag myself out of bed and quietly remind myself that I’d get to see Lee at work. I’d sneak off to grab breakfast and come back to the kitchen so I could talk to him nonstop. He was never once mean to me for being Hyper, Happy, and Overly Excited that early in the Morning to talk to him. One thing that always stood out about Lee was how he noticed the small things about me—like how hungry I always was every Morning. The truth is, I can’t cook. I remember one morning I brought in a breakfast sandwich and tried to heat it up in the microwave with the aluminum foil still on it. Lee was right there beside me, staring wide-eyed. I was so embarrassed. About two weeks later, Lee started cooking me Breakfast and bringing it to work. I thought that was the sweetest thing. Our first date was at Miller’s Ale House. We sat and talked for three hours about life, work, and our likes and dislikes. In Lee’s mind, it went well—and so did I. He made me feel comfortable and safe. We started our relationship in 2023. I met Nixie his Cat when she was 9 years old and Arnold his Dog when he was 2. I fell in love with Lee’s animals, and eventually they became mine too. We adopted Moe our Cat in 2023, and I moved in with Lee on July 30th of 2023. We spent three years together living in Lancaster City before we both got jobs at Willow Valley Community. Then we moved into a Cozy Cottage by the Safe Harbor River. I love our little home and our three animals—it feels like a Disney fantasy. Even though I know life isn’t perfect, I like to pretend sometimes… because I am truly happy with my Lee Lee.
