While Grey was helping the Cole's with their new farm, she had heard so much about their son, Lee. After going over a couple times, they finally met. Then, Grey started visiting Culpeper Airport, where Lee was working. However, the military called, and Lee was soon driving down to Laughlin AFB in Texas. Luckily, Lee was able to come back for Labor Day weekend in 2020. That is where their love story begins.
Being in two states is a challenge. But they made the best of it. Thanks to Grey's dad, Ben, she got the privilege to fly free. So, whenever she could, she would go visit. This perk made the relationship real. When she wasn't visiting him, FaceTime was the substitute, not equal though. When Grey couldn't come visit, Lee would try to fly back when he was able.
As a treat, Lee took Grey out on a very special date. The place was a surprise. She thought something might happen, but she was not going to get her hopes up. After they ordered wine and some appetizers, Lee looked Grey in her eyes. Lee told her how much he loved her, how he can't be without her, and that he couldn't wait to spend the rest of their lives together. She, of course, said yes (or else y'all wouldn't be here).
