Flight
Fly to Ribeirão Preto (RAO).
The most direct way to travel is to fly to Ribeirão Preto Airport (RAO). Usually there is a layover on a big hub such as GRU (Guarulhos- São Paulo), VCP (Viracopos - Campinas), GIG (Galeão - Rio de Janeiro) or BSB (Brasilia). Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a ticket to one of the big hubs and buy the connection to RAO separately. Flying to GRU - Guarulhos Airport, Säo Paulo: Many tickets will have you make a transfer between airports in São Paulo, from GRU to CGH - Congonhas airport. The easiest way to make this transfer is by Uber or Airport Bus Service. Calling an Uber is more or less the same as in the US. The Airport Bus Service buses make the transport between the 2 airports/bus station/train station and Paulista Avenue. It takes approximately 45 minutes for both modes of connection. This is another good hotel in the Nova Aliança district. Nearby is the Mercadão market and Ribeirão Shopping mall. There are also various restaurants and a brewery nearby.

This hotel is in the Nova Aliança neighborhood of Ribeirao Preto. It is adjacent to Ribeirão Preto Shopping mall which has many shops and a large selection of restaurants. Mercadão Novo and Lund Brewery are nearby as well.

Airbnb is another option for staying in Ribeirão Preto. We recommend to get an Air BnB in a condo tower. these have security and are fairly easy to check into. The recommended neoghborhoods are Centro and Nova Aliança.

General Travel Notes
Transportation - Most of the transportation will be by Uber/Taxi. Uber works the same as it does in the US. You will need an international data plan to use the Uber app. Phone/Data - It is recommended to get some sort of international plan to be able to use googlemaps, Uber and other useful apps while traveling. Communication - Whatsapp is the common app in Brazil. I , Lee, can be reached at 17608280387 using Whatsapp while in Brazil.

Brazilian E-Visa
United States citizens are required to get an e-visa to travel to Brazil and must bring a printed copy of the Visa to the airport. The details for applying can be found at https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/. It took a few days to receive the Visa after completing the application.
