Lee and Chelsea first encountered each other in 2006 during their high school Spanish class, sharing glances, but never a conversation. The pair officially met when Lee's sister and Chelsea's best friend, Que'Lisha, introduced the two of them. As the years passed, they remained acquaintances, crossing paths every once in a while. In 2016, Lee ran into Chelsea and her friends at a local bar. He asked her best friend Taylor to put in a good word for him and say that she was "Team Lee." Not long after that, The two went on their first date to the movies and the relationship blossomed. Lee and Chelsea spent every weekend together talking and laughing, making their relationship official on Sweetest Day when Lee surprised Chelsea with balloons and flowers. In 2018, the couple bought their first home. They felt a sense of pride in themselves after this major accomplishment and enjoyed hosting celebrations, family gatherings, and sleepovers with their nieces and nephews. During quarantine, Lee and Chelsea tackled some home improvement projects with the help of her brother and father. Lee organized a trip to Columbus for Sweetest Day in the fall of 2020 with the help of Chelsea's sisters as well as his own. Before leaving, Lee had asked Chelsea's mother, father, and step-father for Chelsea's hand in marriage. Surrounded by their siblings and close friends, Lee got down on one knee and asked Chelsea to be his wife. She replied with a tear-filled "yes" and describes the next 24 hours as an overwhelming feeling of joy and happiness. Since then, the two have embraced wedding planning every step of the way, making sure to celebrate the journey and their beautiful life together. When they are not planning, Lee and Chelsea make time for date nights. Catching a good movie, bowling, visiting with family and friends and laughing at each other are some of their favorite things to do.
