Our Story - By Danny

We first met around 2010 while working at Best Buy in Cerritos, California. I noticed her immediately—she was beautiful—but unfortunately I lacked the confidence (and apparently the emotional maturity) to go say hello. So instead, I admired her quietly from a safe distance and went on with my life. Years passed, and then one day she randomly appeared on my Instagram. Older, wiser, and clearly braver than 2010-me, I did what any modern romantic would do: I slid into her DMs. We started talking, became friends, and things were going great…until I discovered her one major flaw. She once ordered a steak well done. I considered ending things immediately, but love is about compromise. Everything really changed on the Fourth of July when I met her daughter, Leyla. I was nervous, but the moment I met her, I felt a love I had never experienced before. I love Leeana deeply—but I would absolutely use her as a human shield to protect Leyla, and she understands. Together, they complete me, keep me laughing, and somehow make my life better every single day. They are everything I ever wanted, and I’m so lucky I finally had the courage to say hello—even if it took a decade and an app.

Our Story - By Leeana

We technically met over ten years ago while working together at Best Buy. I knew who Danny was, thought he was cute, and also thought he was kind of mean — the kind of guy who seemed permanently unimpressed by everything and definitely not someone looking to flirt at work. So, naturally, we barely spoke and went on with our lives. Fast forward to 2023 when I reactivated Instagram and we added each other. One DM turned into another, and suddenly we were talking all the time. A friendship formed, but once again — while Danny was clearly very attractive — I still didn’t think he liked me. So when he finally asked me out in January of 2024, I was convinced it was a pity date. We kept talking nonstop and seeing each other here and there, but the real turning point came in the summer of 2024. I invited Danny to spend the Fourth of July with us, still unsure where things were going. But the moment I saw how effortlessly he fit in — especially with Leyla — everything clicked. Later that month, Danny informed me (yes, informed) that I was his girlfriend, making it very easy since I didn’t even have to answer. In August of 2025, Danny proposed on the beach at sunset, in front of Leyla — which was absolutely perfect. Watching how excited she was to officially add Danny to our family sealed it. Turns out the “mean Best Buy guy” was exactly what we were missing all along, and I couldn’t be more grateful that life (and Instagram) finally got the timing right.
