Ryann was attending a hockey game in Greenville with her sister, Erinn, after she was given tickets to the lounge. While in the lounge, Erinn saw Paul and instantly pointed him out to Ryann. She didn't feel like going up and talking to him as she knew of him from high school and had been planning to move to Atlanta (so starting up awkward conversations with a boy was not top priority.) Erinn continued to bother Ryann about him, but they left without speaking. The next morning Paul reached out to Ryann asking if that was her at the game and they planned for a first date. Erinn knew it was meant to be.
Ryann had been planning on moving to Atlanta early 2017, but as soon as she met Paul she felt as though she couldn't leave Greenville until she gave their relationship a shot. Within 3 months Paul informed her that he was being transferred to Atlanta and the pair decided it was fate, took a risk, and moved together along with Ryann's dog, Dexter. They have spent an amazing 2.5 years there loving to eat at all of the Korean restaurants, cooking together, and riding bicycles.
Ryann and Paul have made it a point to do date nights. They moved in together early in their relationship and decided that going to a nice dinner to talk, and to experience dates, was a good way to stay connected. Paul had planned a date night for Wednesday at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Ryann was expecting a normal date night as they strolled through looking at the Alice in Wonderland displays. They sat on a bench in Ryann's favorite part of the gardens - where they usually plant tulips - and Paul got down on one knee and asked. Nice women were hanging around and took pictures while it happened (Paul did not plan). The pictures are terrible as Ryann started crying out of happiness and shock, but they made the experience great. Ryann and Paul then celebrated by getting an amazing dinner at a new Atlanta restaurant.
