Thames is one of the main roads in downtown Newport. Stroll up and down the many wharfs in downtown Newport for tons of shopping, restaurants, bars, & beautiful views. This is where to be to take in the Newport nightlife, grab lunch, & browse lots of boutique shops.
One of our favorite morning activities! See the gorgeous Newport coast & famous Newport mansions from a 3.5 mile walkway that borders the shore line. It has been designated a National Recreation Trail, the first in New England
See the amazing Newport Mansions. You can take tours of most, or just walk/bike by. Bellevue Ave has some cute shops & cafes too, and you can start/end the Cliff Walk from there.
One of our favorite Newport activities is taking a sail on the harbor. There are multiple companies that have kiosks on Bowens Wharf, but we recommend the two below. Try booking one at sunset! https://sail-newport.com/ https://sightsailing.com/
A beautiful area on the water. Bring a blanket or some chairs for a picnic on the grass or take a walk or bike ride along the coast!
Small neighborhood beach to relax for a few hours in the sun Note: check website before going, sometimes only open to residents/annual pass holders!
Grab a drink & relax in an Adirondack chair on the lawn of the famous Castle Hill Inn. Stroll to the Light House, watch the boats sail by, and enjoy sunset from this gorgeous location!
A fun winery & brewery experience a few minutes from downtown! They have a great patio where you can order food and try all of the local wines and beers.
