FAQs

If you have any additional questions other than the ones we have listed here, please contact David or Esther directly and we will be glad to answer any questions about the weekend you may have. We look forward to seeing you all for our big day!
Question

What hotels are close to the wedding venue?

Answer

We recommend all out-of-town guests stay at either the DoubleTree or Homewood Suites in Largo, MD. These two hotels are both Hilton properties that are adjacent to each other and share a parking lot. The hotels are approximately 3 miles from the wedding venue and a 20-minute drive to downtown Washington, DC for guests planning to go sightseeing throughout the weekend.

Question

Do you have rooms blocked out?

Answer

We have rooms blocked out in both the DoubleTree and Homewood Suites hotels and we strongly encourage guests to book their rooms EARLY. This will be a holiday weekend in Washington, DC and these hotels are likely to fill up well in advance of the weekend. To reserve rooms in our room block, please use the link for each hotel on the travel page of our site.

Question

How will we get from the hotel to the wedding ceremony?

Answer

Newton White Mansion is 3.8 miles from both the DoubleTree and Homewood Suites hotels and has plenty of parking on site. Out of town guests traveling to the DC area by car can easily drive between the hotel and wedding venue in about 5 minutes. We will be arranging a shuttle service from the hotel to the wedding venue for out of town guests that do not have a car. If you have your own vehicle, please plan to drive yourself to the wedding so you do not take space on the bus away from guests that do not have their own vehicle.

Question

Can I bring a plus one to the wedding?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to space at our venue, we are not able to allow guests to bring plus ones or young children to the wedding ceremony and reception. To request an exception, please contact David or Esther directly, and we will make our best efforts to accommodate your request.

Question

Should I bring a gift to the wedding?

Answer

We ask that you please do NOT bring a gift to the wedding. If you would like to get a gift for the bride and groom, please visit the Registry tab on the website. Cards will be accepted at the wedding ceremony.

Question

Are we registered on any other sites besides Zola?

Answer

No, Zola consolidates registry items from their own site as well as items from other stores' sites into one registry. If an item comes from another store, guests will be directed to a link to that store's website to purchase it. We do have products on Bed Bath and Beyond's and William & Sonoma's websites. For Zola’s registry items over $100, we listed them as "Group Gifts" where guests can contribute money towards that item as a group. We also listed the items we would appreciate the most as "Our Most Wanted."

Question

Is there a breakfast the morning after the wedding?

Answer

There will be a farewell gathering in one of the event spaces of one of the hotels. The exact location is still TBD and will be updated as soon as the location is confirmed. Guests are encouraged to come by before departing to say goodbye to the bride and groom. A light continental breakfast will be available.

Question

Can you get us items from the registry on different sites?

Answer

Yes, of course! We are all about getting a good deal, so if you find the same item on another site for less money, please let the bride or groom know and they will mark that item as “Purchased” on the registry.
