At the very beginning of 2023, Matt decided to post a Tik Tok of his black lab Diesel and captioned the video "My pup needs a mother #singledad". Tik tok knew what it was doing by putting this video on Taylor's feed. Taylor liked it and as a couple days passed, Taylor received a message to her Tik Tok account from Matt. Taylor learned Matt was living in New York and decided to continue chatting with him for fun knowing nothing would likely come about from it. 2 months later, Matt voiced that he wanted to meet Taylor in person. Matt recently told Taylor that he remembers thinking to himself "I'm going to find a way." The two of them would facetime almost daily so Taylor finally agreed, the with only one stipulation being that Matt had to drive in case it went south and he needed to leave early. So, at the end of March 2023, Matt drove 12 hours out to Wisconsin. Although they didn't tell each other right away, the two of them knew they had found their person the moment Matt stepped out of his truck. The two enjoyed lots of fun activities together and neither wanted that week to end. Matt even purchased Taylor a plane ticket out to see him that May before he left that week. However, Taylor had different plans and May was too far away. So, Taylor booked a flight for just a couple weeks later to surprise Matt. For those that know Taylor, they know that Taylor is TERRIBLE at keeping secrets, so that surprise wasn't kept a surprise for long. From then on out, Matt and Taylor took turns flying back and forth to see each other almost monthly. In September 2023 Taylor made the decision not to pursue Veterinary School in the Carribean and made the decision to move out to New York for a fresh start and to be with Matt. The two of them were able to save up money living with Matt's parents and finally bought a home together August 2024, the same day that Matt asked Taylor to be his forever.
