Accommodations

We're staying at the Cape Kanapitsa hotel linked below (view). The hotel is a 7 minute walk from the nearest bus station and a 5 minute walk from Kanapitsa beach, where hourly water taxis run to and from town. It's also a short walk to a supermarket, several restaurants, and Tzaneria beach where our wedding reception will be. If you choose to find your own lodging, we recommend staying in town or along the southern coastline of the island. Make sure to take public transit accessibility into consideration if you don't plan to rent a car. Feel free to send us any hotels you are considering if you'd like advice on location.

Flight information

We would recommend searching for flights to Athens and planning to spend some time in Athens before flying to Skiathos (~45 minutes). This will give you the best flight options. We used the app Hopper to track and predict flight prices. Please reach out to us if you have any issues finding flights.

Skiathos Transportation Information

On our wedding day, guests will need to find their own transportation to the ceremony. We'll arrange for transportation from the ceremony to the reception. We will also have a shuttle running to take everyone home after the reception. For the rest of your trip, there are several options for transportation. During our stay we mostly took the bus - we rented an ATV one day to explore the northern more mountainous area of the island. Both ATV and car rentals in Skiathos accept US drivers licenses. It is cheaper to wait until you are on the island to rent vs reserve ahead of time. The bus runs along the main coastline where most of the island life is and the last bus is at 1230 am. Taxi prices we found to be high. There are cheaper water taxis you can take via the main beaches and town port for only a few dollars per person each way.
