Bali has so many amazing restaurants and day clubs to relax and enjoy!! Kick back and relax in Canggu and Seminyak with a villa or hotel stay. Enjoy the hustle and bustle with massages, dining and swimming. If you feel like exploring Ubud and Uluwatu these areas can be enjoyed as a day trip or a few days stay to get out of the hustle and bustle and see some beautiful scenery and experience some more luxury style accomodation and retreats. Up for an adventure check out Gili Islands. A little further away and can be accessed by ferry for a few nights stay. Enjoy the beautiful beaches and snorkelling.
Travelling with small children and require a car seat or pre arranged transport. Check out the below Facebook transport accounts. Like a sunrise Transport Bali, Bali Bro Tours & Transport - Dedy, Great Day with Gede. At the airport there will be porters as soon as you arrive. They will offer to drive you and take your bags. This service is not free, a price should be negotiated before agreeing to ride and take your bags if transport has not been pre arranged. Your hotel may also offer airport transfers that can be pre arranged. You can also view the Facebook group called Bali with Kids or www.baliwithkidz.com for more tips of things to do with the kids.
The easiest transport method is to look for Blue Bird Taxi or pre arrange transport using the app Gojek. When taking a taxi ensure you look for the cab with the blue bird symbol on the cab light, these offer taxi metres. Always ask driver if they have taxi metre. If they do not, it most likely is not blue bird taxi, so ensure you agree on the price before travelling or you may be surprised at the other side!!
Gojek is similar to Uber and Uber Eats but better. A one stop app for in-house massage, food delivery and transport. Download the app before you leave Australia or it will not work. Drivers only take cash payment so please make sure you have cash before ordering. You will need to be connected to wifi to use the app. https://www.thebalibible.com/articles/go-jek-your-one-stop-app-for-all-of-your-bali-needs
With many tourists visiting Bali each year it is very easy to get around and English speaking. Keep in mind to be careful with your valuables or leave them at home. Bringing Australian dollars in cash is the easiest method, with many money exchanges available. Ensure to only go to official money exchange that are in shops. Do not be tricked by the money exchange offering higher rate down side alleys, these are not legitimate vendors. ATM and eftpos facilities are also available at most restaurants and hotels. Bring a back up ATM or travel money card incase the machine swallows it! Yes this has happened to us!! ING debit cards have good international fees if you are already banking with them. Transport services will always require cash payment.
Seminyak has all your needs - stay close to Oberoi road its within close walking distance to shops and restaurants "Jalan Laksmana". You can check out some cafes and bars - Sea circus, Revolver, La Favela, Potato Head, Sister Fields, Motel Mexicola But first Coffee - Melbourne style most cafes will have you covered Revolver, Sister Fields never disappoint.
Canggu a little further on - the new Seminyak. All the new restaurants, day clubs and villas are popping up here. Best way to get around Gojek or taxi as nothing is within walking distance. If you wish to go to the day clubs you may need to arrange transport back via the clubs services (its still affordable and easy most do not allow taxi or Gojek services to pick you up) Don't go wondering around in the dark in Canggu just get transport. A lot more locals and easy to get lost.
Bali has many barbers, hair and nail salons. Check out freelances on Instagram or shops around Seminyak and Canggu areas. I encourage to book early if you wish to have both hair and make up as it is peak season. Nail salons are easy to walk into any shop and arrange a booking. Below are a few suggestion Instagram accounts, these accounts would require bookings in advance. @troveartistrybali @glodayspa_bali
