Our Story begins a year before we had officially started dating. I just moved back from Alabama and had received a text to come to an Orange Theory Fitness Party my friend was hosting, completely unaware that my future wife would be there. As I said hey to everyone little did I know that Leanne’s best friend had leaned over and secretly said “Oh he’s definitely your type”. We briefly talked, exchanged pleasantries and went our separate ways. Fast forward a year and a couple of right swipes on Hinge and we had a match! We quickly realized that we had met before and after accepting that neither were serial killers we agreed to go on a date! Day of comes for brunch, and someone who will remain nameless, showed up 20 minutes late. I was discouraged, thinking maybe that connection from a year ago wasn’t as strong as I had thought. Then, in walked the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. And then BAM! An instant connection, we talked, we laughed and before I knew it 3 and half hours had gone by. I was ready to ask for a second date and take the little victory when I was asked “Do you want to go watch football and continue our date?” I was shook, it was exactly what I wanted to do! We went to Lakewood Ranch to walk and continued talking. While looking at the shops on the street we passed a restaurant that her parents frequent. And wouldn’t you know, right as I was about to take a look I hear “OMG quick, just keep walking” and when I turned to look I didn’t see her parents but instead their best friend who was staring and waving. I told her we had to go say hi now. I had met the parents, their friends, and all of the patrons who wanted to know who was lucky enough to be on a date with Leanne. The date winding down, Leanne had apologized for the embarrassment of “all of that” and for their 20 questions at the bar. With Leanne nervous that there wasn’t going to be a second date due to the ambush, jokingly I told her it was fine, as I was practically part of the family now.
