This story is one of my favorite to tell to date; probably one of my favorite forever actually. Was it fate? Coincidence? An invisible string? Whichever way, July 15, 2022, was a night to remember. As all good stories start, mine started on a bachelorette trip, and Jack, who was in flight school at the time, started on a cross-country trip (note: one that he was not originally scheduled for), both heading to Charleston, South Carolina. As all bridesmaids know, the best place to end a night of fun and dancing is in a karaoke bar on King Street, screaming “Dancing Queen." I guess this is also true for a randomly assorted ragtag group of military men looking for a fun spot. I don’t know if it was my “beautiful singing” or the fact that I was the only single one on this trip, haha, but I was lovingly shoved in front of the “cute guy” at the bar. Jack has always said, "I turned around, and there you were," but little did he know about the wonderful assist at the time. Needless to say, our conversation of a few hours felt like a few minutes. Jack and I exchanged numbers, and the night came to a close. This is where the story gets fun. As the next day went on and we were shopping on King Street, I was surprised to see a familiar face who was also shopping. Our groups ended up chit-chatting some more, but ultimately went our own ways. As the weekend came to a close, I kept thinking about how I had seen this “cute guy” not once, but twice, and decided to send a text as he was flying out. The rest is history. One date in Birmingham, one date in Pensacola, and 3 years of long distance, I have not only found the love of my life, but my best friend. Thank goodness for karaoke, am I right? 🤍 *This message was approved by Jackson Bennett
