We enjoy walking around Parque del Retiro (think Central Park), visiting Museo Nacional del Prado art museum, and exploring the Royal Palace. We recommend doing a golf cart/tuktuk tour which can take you around Madrid’s top sites. Mercado de San Miguel is a popular tapas market but we recommend visiting during non-peak hours to avoid crowds. Madrid is also famous for its many plazas, including Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. It’s also fun to create your own tapas tour! We have a few recommendations below to get you started!
Latina Exhibit: Until July 5, Casa de America/Palacio Linares (where we are doing the welcome party) is putting on an exhibit highlighting Latina women, music and glamour. Entrance is free and is open Mon-Fri from 11:00am-8:30pm and Sat 11:00am-3:00pm. It takes about 30-60 minutes to see the entire exhibit. https://www.casamerica.es/exposiciones/latina TukTuk Tour - Explore the entire city to see many of the most popular tourist sites of Madrid from the comfort of a TukTuk! We have done the 2 hour tour with Borja and he can be reached via WhatsApp at +34 642 61 9622. He speaks English and has options for 30/45/60/90/120 minute tours. You can text him directly to coordinate pickup and drop off timing. We have coordinated with various hotels to provide room blocks and discount codes. Given that room prices may vary over time, we recommend checking prices at the hotels directly and also on websites like Booking.com. There are also many Airbnbs in the area.
