Things to know for the wedding day
Question

What should I expect from the ceremony and mass?

Answer

Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a traditional Latin mass parish. The wedding ceremony is completed first, before the mass, and the mass is celebrated in Latin. The choir will sing all the responses, but the faithful are encouraged to sing as well. There will be booklets with the English translations available for all guests.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Please wear modest clothes. For the ladies in the bridal party and those attending, we ask that no strapless, low-cut, backless, or sleeveless dresses be worn. Chapel veils are encouraged for ladies and girls, but not required. Men and boys should wear coats and ties. Please no shorts or T-shirts.

Question

What should I know before I enter the church on the day of the wedding?

Answer

Please be silent when you enter the church and during the ceremony. The church is a place of prayer and we ask that you be quiet to respect the sanctity of the sanctuary. Please do not talk before the mass and do not clap or cheer during the ceremony or at the end of the mass.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

There will be plenty of parking at both the church and venue.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The mass and ceremony begins at 2:30. It would be best to arrive by 2:00 to ensure seating.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Reservations should be submitted by April 5.
