Powell's City of Books
Powell's City of Books is the largest used and new bookstore in the world, occupying an entire city block and housing approximately one million books.
Jamison Square
Jameson Square is right in the Pearl District about a five minute walk from the Hilton Canopy. There is a fun fountain in the square for small children to play and cool off on a hot day. You may want bathing suits and swim diapers for the kids!
New Seasons Market - Slabtown
Leah’s favorite grocery store is a great spot to shop for any snacks, treats, beverages, fresh produce, or other food you might want while in town! Slabtown is just one of many locations.
Food Cart Pods
There are food cart pods all over Portland - be sure to visit at least one while you are in town!

Try one of Leah's favorite superfood smoothies or get a shot of ginger juice!
Salt & Straw
Salt & Straw is a local ice cream company with a national following. They have a variety of seasonal, quirky, vegan, and classic flavors. Don’t despair if the line is long it tends to move quickly!

Rent a city bike if you want to pedal around town!

The 2024 Newsweek Readers' Choice Awards named the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) as the top science museum in the US. This is a great place to take children!
Amaterra Winery
Amaterra Winery opened in 2022 just a few miles from downtown Portland. The grand property offers breathtaking views of the Willamette Valley. This is a great, easy alternative to experience an Oregon winery if you can't make it all the way to wine country during your visit. Amaterra has live music on their patio on Thursday nights.
Forest Park
Portland has one of the largest urban parks in the country, which features hundreds of native wildlife and plant species with over 80 miles of trails.
Multnomah Falls
A beautiful waterfall about 20 minutes outside of Portland, which is also the most visited natural recreation site in the Pacific Northwest.
Willamette Valley Wine Country
Oregon wine country is quite beautiful and known for their Pinot Noir. You'll need a car to travel through the area and most vineyards will require reservations for wine tasting, so plan ahead!
Oregon Coast
Oregon boasts 363 miles of rugged coastline featuring expansive beaches, lively tidepools, rolling sand dunes, and quirky towns. You can get to the nearest beach in about 90 minutes by car. Let us know if you want help planning a visit to the coast while you are in town!
Crater Lake National Park
The deepest lake in the US, and one of the most pristine in the world, was formed 7,700 years ago when an ancient volcano erupted and collapsed. This is about a five hour drive from Portland but worth the visit for the awe-inspiring views.
Seattle
Seattle is about a 3 hour drive from Portland, and can also be reached by plane or train. This beautiful city on the sound is home to Starbucks, the space needle, and much more!

The Golden State lies below Oregon’s southern border if you want to add a stop to visit San Francisco, Los Angeles, Napa Valley, Disneyland, and much more!
