The Wedding Website of Leah Whitehead and Stephen Chippendale
As the date approaches, we will update the website with specific flight options. For now, we’ve shared details about the most convenient airport and car hire options. We highly recommend renting a car if you plan to make a holiday out of your trip. However, if you’re coming just for the wedding, taking a taxi too and from the airport will be the easiest option. We will also provide taxi details closer to the time.

Flight

Pisa Airport

Pisa airport is the closest airport to our accommodation. Being only 20 miles away and around a 30 minute drive. This will be the most convenient airport to travel to and from.

Flight

Other Airports

If you’re planning to extend your trip to Italy into a holiday either before or after the wedding, here are some nearby airports to consider. You can fly into any of these and then travel to the wedding location using a rented car, train, or taxi. ROME CIAMPINO AIPORT is approximately 220 miles away and around a 3 hour drive. We have previously flown to this airport and drove to the venue from here. The drive is quite easy mainly along a motorway. GENOVA CITY AIRPORT (near Portofino) is approximately 130 miles away and around a 2 hour drive. MILAN LINATE AIRPORT is approximately 200 miles away and around a 3 hour drive. FLORENCE AIRPORT is approximately 45 miles away and around a 1 hour drive. Currently only London Gatwick and Stansted Airport fly to Florence.

Rental Car

Sicily By Car

Piazzale Corradino D'Ascanio, Toscana 56121, Italy

We have personally used Auto Europe to find a rental car, and rented from Sicily By Car. Both had excellent reviews, were easy to use, and we had no issues. However, feel free to do your own research and choose any car hire company that suits you. There is parking available at the wedding venue for your convenience.

Train

Trainline

Trainline is an amazing website/app for planning train travel. In Italy, the train system offers a quick and convenient way to explore the country. This mode of transport is ideal if you’re planning on making a holiday out of your trip and if you want to visit multiple areas such as Pisa, Florence, Portofino, Rome, Milan etc. Trainline makes it easy to browse train schedules and pre-book tickets. Alternatively, you can also purchase train tickets directly at the station.
