How We Met

Once Upon A Time At A Rooftop Pool Party

… in Midtown Atlanta, I met Leah. It was June 10, 2017, and despite living in the same city for 3 years and even sharing mutual friends, we had neither met nor were were even aware of the other from social media. Rishi, a close friend of Leah’s, invited her to join him and a group of friends for brunch at South City Kitchen Midtown then a rooftop pool party afterwards. We both went to this brunch, and even sat across the table from one another, but didn’t even talk. Wearing a bikini t-shirt with a ladies figure on it, I was hesitant to approach Leah… not only was she beautiful but she had also caught the attention of several others at the table whom she was caught in conversations with. It wasn’t until after brunch on our way to the pool party that I was able to spark up a conversation with her. Sharing a love for travel, family, tequila, and being a dog parent, we immediately connected. We kept gravitating back to one another throughout the day, separating and coming back for more conversation and flirting. As a group picture was organized, Leah made her way next to me leaning in extra close, but proceeded to fall backwards into the pool shortly after the photo was taken – which happened to also be captured on camera and served as the catalyst for Leah to reach out to me the next day upon receipt from Rishi. I was excited to see a text from an unknown number the next day containing a few pictures taken from the pool party. Needless to say “playing it cool” was out the window for us. From a dog date that same day to multiple dinners that same week we were inseparable. That was us though. That is us. Hudson and Bella followed suit and were inseparable as well. Shortly after a month into dating we met each others families, and three months after we took our first big trip together to Europe. Needless to say we "really really liked" one another, and the writings been on the wall ever since.
