The Wedding Website of Leah Miller and Jeremy Schmid
Meet some of our family and friends who will be walking down the aisle with us.

Laura Miller

Maid of Honor

Sister of the Bride On a cold day in March of 1994, Leah was blessed with a younger sister Laura. Leah would try to teach her right from wrong, but Laura was too fun for that. Leah and Laura both did XC, track, and basketball in high school. Leah became the track star and Laura the basketball star. They both were creative and artistic but often fought over clothes when they were younger, because they both had such great taste. Laura is now a teacher at Thomaston Center School and dog mom to her corgi Norman. Even though they are miles away, Oakley and Leah love to Facetime with Norman and Laura.

Zachary Schmid

Best Man

Brother of the groom. Brothers since 1992, Jeremy and Zach grew up competing over everything from sports, ATVs and house chores. Just when Jeremy was able to get away from Zach, Zach followed his big brother to college at Central Connecticut State University. Now, separated by 273 miles, they try and spend as much time together as they can.

Violet Chang

Bridesmaid

Friend of the Bride Leah & Violet met in Boston through running friends when Violet's Ragnar team needed a few extra teammates. Since then Violet and Leah have traveled to many states and countries (including Hawaii and Canada) and run hundreds of miles together in the wee hours of the night. Violet has caught Leah foam rolling alongside many highways and watched Leah get stopped by TSA on 5/6 trips. Violet is an excellent physical therapist, and Leah would take full advantage of her baking and PT skills in exchange for humor and choreography. Fun Fact: Leah and Jeremy accidentally introduced Violet and her now-husband Billy, when Jeremy came to visit Leah in Boston.

David Vincenzi

Groomsman

Best friend of the groom. Jeremy’s first buddy when he moved to Litchfield in 2002. They have kept in touch every week since. Jeremy and Dave have spent summer nights on Dave’s boat in Watch Hill to chilly fall days in Vermont. Jeremy even talked Dave into buying a four wheel drive GMC after every Ford he owned has broken down.

Meghan DuPont

Bridesmaid

Friend of the Bride Leah and Meg met in CCD when they were younger where they would proceed to spend many Sundays and weeknights going to CCD class. Even though Meg and Leah met in Thomaston, their fathers went to St. Paul's High School in Bristol, CT together. Meg and Leah would travel between Boston and Thomaston to visit each other all through high school and college for birthdays, beach days, and holidays. Meg came to visit Leah on the coldest days of winter and warmest days of summer. Some of their best memories came from Red Sox games or eating their way through CT and Boston. Leah is so grateful that Meg is still her friend after Leah bumped her new jeep when they were in high school.

Robert Currier

Groomsman

Friend of the groom. Coworkers since 2015. They have enjoyed brewery hopping across the green mountains, bass fishing on Lake Champlain, white water rafting in Maine and Red Sox games in Boston. Jeremy has seen Bobby’s life evolve from microwaving chicken nuggets and frozen vegetables to eating out six days a week. Jeremy can’t thank Bobby’s wife, Stephanie, enough, for now taking care of him on a daily basis.

Alix Pettinella

Bridesmaid

Friend of the Bride Alix and Leah met on the Battle Road Running Club in Boston. Shortly after Alix became Leah's neighbor and Oakley's first visitor! Despite the fact that Alix is a devote Yankees fan, Leah and Alix share a love for running, bar hopping, puppy dogs and traveling to Europe (circa 2018). Alix is an excellent chef, while Leah will do all the baking. Fun Fact: Alix's sister once thought Leah and Alix looked more like sisters than they did.

Justin Wagner

Groomsman

Friend of the groom. Also known as Wags, Jeremy and Justin’s friendship started in the academy. Both having a love for the outdoors, they often swap hunting stories over an open beer. They have conquered Mt. Washington (via Justin’s Jeep) and traveled New England over the past few years.

Oakley James Schmid

Best Dog of Honor

Oakley is our 3 year old chocolate lab. He is strong, energetic, and lovable. He loves to go on walks with his parents, swim in rivers, and play in the snow. He loves treats, naps, and tug of war. He can't wait for this next adventure!
