Our Story

We love telling people we met in the baked goods aisle at Costco in Long Island City —both reaching for the last New York cheesecake, when Gil, the strategist that he is, offered it to Leah *only if* she agreed to go to dinner with him.
In reality, Gil and Leah met on a Jewish dating app, and Gil, the gentleman that he is, just happened to ask Leah to her favorite restaurant in her old neighborhood in Williamsburg (Cafe Mogador). There was no cheesecake (tragically), but there was an instant connection.
From the start, they spent nearly every weekend together—either in Long Island City, where they live now (and where Gil was already living), or in Williamsburg, Leah’s old hood. They started exploring upstate, road-tripping to Vermont, and soaking up everything the city had to offer—laughing, wandering, and always finding new favorite spots. Whether they are planning a getaway or just hanging out on the couch with takeout and a movie, being together has always felt easy—and like home.
