Spring 2019 — First Crossing Paths Leah and Frank first crossed paths at West Virginia University. Leah, originally from Seattle, Washington, chose WVU to pursue its top-ranked forensic science program. Early into the spring semester, she heard about an FBI research study happening on campus and asked a new friend she’d met during sorority recruitment to go with her. Frank Pizzichillo V ended up at WVU thanks to a combination of scholarship and Honors College opportunities, the big-time sports atmosphere, and—if he’s being honest—the social life. On the first day of his Business Core class, he was told to network, which led him to several lifelong friends, including the one who invited him to tag along to that same FBI study. Participants were being paid $50, which in West Virginia is roughly the equivalent of $500,000 worth of beer and moonshine. It was there, in that unlikely setting, that Frank met the woman who would one day become his wife. Fall 2019 — Reconnecting Through Statistics Class Although they met near the end of freshman year, they wouldn’t cross paths again until the next fall when they landed in the same statistics class. One night, needing homework help, Leah reached out to Frank. Even though he didn’t fully understand the assignment either, he did his best — mostly because he wanted an excuse to get to know the beautiful girl from Seattle a little better. Countless library sessions later, their study conversations turned into spending more time together outside of class. Frank’s fraternity hosted some of the best parties on campus, and with many mutual friends in both groups, they kept finding themselves in the same place at the same time. 2020 — The Pandemic The pandemic sent them back to opposite coasts where Leah looked for any excuse to text Frank, and he looked for any reason to call her. Despite Leah not being a fan of phone calls, she made exceptions for Frank. February 9th 2021 — Greek Monday Greek Monday, a popular night out in Greek life, marked the moment things changed between them. Accounts of the night differ, but by April 2021 they were officially dating. May 2022 — Graduation After graduation, they spent one last summer on opposite coasts before Leah moved to the greater Philadelphia area to build a life with Frank. Over the next four years, they filled their home with love, laughter, and one very important cat named Pot Roast. August 7, 2025 — The Proposal With the support of both families, Frank planned a proposal that Leah had absolutely no idea was coming. On what Leah thought would be a routine, yearly visit to the Philadelphia area, her parents flew in and suggested a winery trip to the Poconos. Little did she know, Frank was planning to ask the most important question of his life. Surrounded by their parents, he asked Leah to be his bride — and she said yes. Today Leah loved studying criminology and forensic science in college, but ultimately chose a different career path. She built a meaningful career in the HR department of a school for students with special needs. By supporting staff through administrative work, she helps them provide the best care to every student. Seeing such dedication towards students' growth inspires her daily and makes the work deeply rewarding. Frank continued pursuing his passion for finance and now works in Ambler as an Advisor with Valley Financial Group. He furthered his studies and earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in the summer of 2024. He loves the work he does, the clients he serves, and the people he works alongside — and yes, he’s always happy to welcome new clients. If you’ve made it through their whole story, thank you. Leah and Frank cannot wait to celebrate with you. Go Birds, Go Hawks, and God bless.
