We originally met online and had our first date at a Ford’s Garage. After the date Dwight considered moving to New York and I thought he was nice but a little too talkative. After Dwight decided not to move he reached out (two weeks later) and asked me on a second date. We went to Atlanta shortly after meeting. Dwight wanted to woo me before I started a new job and I was going to get the one thing on my bucket list checked off. I figured even if he was a murderer at least I would get to see the whale sharks. In case you’re wondering the aquarium is just as amazing as I expected. Dwight asked me to officially be his girlfriend on April 1st.
Dwight created the ring using the diamond from his mom’s original engagement ring. Right before he proposed he would ask about what type of ring I wanted and would sneak off with his mom to “look at cars”. We took a trip to Pennsylvania for a friend’s wedding and he sneakily brought the ring along. Dwight told my best friend and mom. He even managed to show my mom the ring! When we got home he kept asking me to pick a special meal before we started Hell Week at Orange Theory. I thought it was strange but I wasn’t going to turn down picking out any meal I wanted. Dwight ran me a bath when he got home. He also didn’t change out of his work clothes, which I thought was odd but I just didn't bother questioning it. We sat down with our dinner and joked about getting engaged. I told him I didn’t believe he could hide the ring from me for that long. Next thing I know he’s down on one knee with a ring in his hand. In case you were wondering, we had Tofu Parmesan that night.
