It all started when Casey added Leah on Snapchat because she had a bowling emoji next to her name — but he finally decided to message her after seeing a picture of her in a red dress. From there, we spent the next month talking on the phone every night until 3 or 4 a.m., connecting over everything from bowling and anime to the most random topics you could think of. When we finally met in person, we ended up having the most awkward conversation about water (in the middle of an empty McDonald’s) and then saw a movie (without popcorn, because we were both too shy). Somewhere between the laughs and awkward moments, we discovered our shared fascination with Mothman — yes, Mothman — and that’s when Casey asked Leah to be his girlfriend. The rest is history…
