Campbell and Leah met at UCSB through a mutual friend when they all ran into each other while walking home from a party on the infamous Del Playa Drive in Isla Vista. They had an instant connection and played MarioKart until 2am that night. Campbell's baseball team and Leah's volleyball team started hanging out and playing beach volleyball together on Sundays. They got to know each other and strengthened their bond before making it official on October 3, 2012.
It was an ordinary Thursday evening (Leah thought) when Campbell suggested they order takeout from their favorite restaurant in Ocean Beach - OB Noodle House. They picked up the food and went down to the beach to have a picnic and watch the sunset. It was a couple weeks before Leah's birthday, and Campbell said he had an early birthday gift for her. He handed her a card and asked her to read it out loud. Leah began to tear up reading the thoughtful card, and when she finished and looked up, Campbell was down on one knee and asked Leah to marry him. They watched the most beautiful sunset with so much excitement about their future together.
