Question

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception will both take place at the private property of Leah's parents. This is next to The Nature Conservancy's Nachusa Grasslands preserve. The venue is NOT at the preserve headquarters, the manager's residence (where Leah grew up), or the visitor center. Please make sure to use the correct address below. 2017 Lowden Rd, Franklin Grove, IL 61031. Nachusa Grasslands is a nature preserve owned by The Nature Conservancy, a global nonprofit organization. Leah's father, Bill Kleiman, is the land manager of Nachusa Grasslands and her mother, Susan Kleiman, volunteers much of her time on the preserve. Bill and Susan live on site as part of this role and Leah was raised here. Nachusa is made up of several kinds of restored native habitat - including prairie, oak savanna, oak woodland, and wetland. Much of the preserve is open to the public. It is also home to a wild bison herd (fenced-in), this area is not open to the public. Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We are loosely calling it "semi-formal garden party attire". If you are a nerd, like us, think what you would wear to a hobbit's 111th birthday party. Whatever fancy clothes you will feel at home in at an autumn wedding on a prairie. The ceremony and reception will take place outside. If it rains the ceremony will be moved inside. There will be a tent over the reception area. Most of the day will be spent on a lawn so please plan accordingly for footwear. Late September is typically a beautiful time of year in northern Illinois, but it can bring a range of temperatures so please check the forecast!
