Johnnie Mercers Fishing Pier
A classic Wrightsville Beach landmark and one of the most scenic spots on the island. The pier stretches 1,200 feet over the ocean, making it perfect for a morning walk, photos, or watching the waves roll in. There’s a small fee if guests want to walk all the way out onto the pier, but enjoying the beach area around it is free.
Wrightsville Beach
Our favorite beach in North Carolina. The water is beautifully clear and blue, with plenty of space to relax. It’s livelier near the piers (Johnnie Mercer and Oceanic), but if you’re looking for a quieter stretch, head down to the South End for a calmer, more peaceful spot.
Wilmington River Walk
A must‑see spot in downtown Wilmington. The Riverwalk stretches along the Cape Fear River with beautiful waterfront views, historic charm, and plenty of places to stop for coffee, cocktails, or shopping. It’s perfect for a walk before dinner or an easy afternoon exploring the city.
Walk the Loop
A 2.5‑mile walking path that circles the center of Wrightsville Beach. It’s an easy, scenic loop with water views, parks, and a friendly local vibe. Perfect for a morning walk or jog. Starting point for GPS: Wrightsville Beach Park 321 Causeway Dr, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480 This park sits right on the Loop, so guests can park, hop on the path, and start walking in either direction.
