Leah moved to Colorado and attended the Orchard Church/youth group where Aaron had caught her eye and Leah caught his.

Leah lived in Ohio and Aaron lived in Colorado. They reconnected over Facebook and talked every day for several months when Aaron made the decision to visit Leah. On August 24th, 2019 Aaron asked Leah to be his girlfriend.

It was their last night together in Ohio since Aaron was returning back to Colorado the following morning. They were in Cincinnati on the Skystar Ferris Wheel and once they got to the very top Aaron said " I love you". Leah responded with "You shouldn't say I love you unless you mean it" and then Aaron said "I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it." In which Leah replied "Well then I love you too."

Leah and Aaron were in Ohio attending her best friends/cousin's wedding. While on the dance floor Aaron pulled Leah's grandma Vickie aside and said "Can I marry your granddaughter", she was thrilled and said "YES!" Aaron then asked her not to say anything since he hadn't yet asked her dad. Vickie then asked if she could go get him he replied "yes with a smile" and when he came over he asked for his permission to marry his daughter. Leah's father said "If you ask her right here right now in the microphone". Aaron then got down on one knee and in the microphone asked Leah to spend the rest of her life with him and she said.......YES!
