Things To Do

When we first started planning our wedding, we never imagined Wooster would be the place—but the moment we saw our venue, we knew it was meant to be. Since then, we’ve truly enjoyed our visits and discovered so many great things the area has to offer. For fellow food lovers like us, there are some fantastic dining spots, along with a few breweries and distilleries that make for a fun afternoon out. Below is a list of places we’ve personally tried and would highly recommend if you have some extra time to explore while you’re in town for our wedding. If you’re checking out this page right after receiving your invite, be sure to check back before the wedding! We’re planning more trips down to Wooster and will continue adding new spots as we try them.

The City Square Steakhouse

140 South Market Street, Wooster, OH 44691

We wanted our rehearsal dinner location to be somewhere especially delicious for our families, so for Valentine’s Day this year we decided to try it for date night—and we absolutely loved it! The restaurant has a dark, romantic vibe, and the food was incredible. We highly, highly recommend the scallop appetizer. They also offer Saturday brunch, which could be a fun option for the morning after the wedding while you wait to join us for the recovery cookout!

Grigio Wine & Cocktail Bar

211 South Market Street, Wooster, OH 44691

We stopped here for one last drink to wrap up our Valentine’s Day date, and it did not disappoint! This cute little wine and cocktail bar is the perfect spot for a nightcap. Our pick: the Butterfingers Espresso Martini—so delicious!

JAFB Wooster Brewery

120 Beall Avenue, Wooster, OH 44691

Checking out breweries is one of our favorite ways to spend an afternoon, and this one did not disappoint! JAFB—“Just Another insert your favorite F word Brewery”—is a great little spot to visit if you have some free time or want to meet up with friends. The open, airy feel of the space is especially nice, and you’ll even find their beers on tap at several locations around the Wooster area. Josh tried a flight and enjoyed every selection he picked!

The Leaf Restaurant

203 West Liberty Street, Wooster, OH 44691

We stopped here on our way out of town for a quick breakfast, and this place is a must! The vibe is classic breakfast diner meets modern décor, and the food was delicious. Our recommendation: the breakfast pocket with sausage—so, so yummy! And you can make brunch reservations on their website!

Minglewood Distilling Co & The Ice Plant

437 East South Street, Wooster, OH 44691

During our Valentine’s date weekend, we thought it would be fun to check out this distillery since Josh loves bourbon—and it did not disappoint! This small distillery offers a wide variety of whiskey and bourbon options and has a really cool vibe inside. The weekend we visited, they were hosting a barrel-signing event, so in two years we’ll be invited back to taste the bourbon from that very barrel—how fun!

Sure House Coffee Roasting Co.

151 South Market Street, Wooster, OH 44691

We stopped here one afternoon for a quick pick-me-up and really enjoyed their lattes. Our recommendation: the Everything Cretzel! It’s a delicious mix between a pretzel and a croissant, and it’s especially good warmed up.

Tulipan Pastry & Coffee Shop

122 South Market Street, Wooster, OH 44691

Such a cute little coffee spot—perfect for grabbing a drink to go and finding a cozy place to sit and enjoy it. They offer tons of latte flavor options and even suggest great combinations. Our recommendation: a butterscotch and English toffee latte paired with their delicious baklava.
