Eric & Brandi met the modern way: a Facebook wave in the spring of 2021 Brandi caught Eric’s eye on several occasions as her profile continued to pop up in the “People You May Know” section. Although initially nervous, he mustered up some courage and sent her a “wave”. After a review of his profile, she decided to respond with a “wave” of her own the next afternoon. Fortunately, Brandi accepted an invitation to dinner soon after and the rest is history!

Brandi’s excitement grew as she prepared for a weekend getaway in Key West, FL. With a fun and relaxing schedule in hand, this last week of July would surely be memorable. Having booked a Friday evening “Toes in the Sand” sunset dinner at Casa Marina, Eric told Brandi to be ready for post-dinner pictures on the beach with the hotel photographer. Eric, with support from hotel staff, a sand sculpture artist, photographers, and others, prepared to propose halfway through the meal. As the main course finished, the couple enjoyed the band, the beautiful sunset, and one another’s company. Brandi continued to look over her shoulder at the 50+ people taking pictures and videos of the sand sculpture. Little did she know, the artist’s finishing touches were to add “Brandi, Will You Marry Me”. On cue, the photographer came to the table to request pictures in front of the big new heart sculpture created earlier in the day. Brandi could see the sculpture, but since dinner was on the beach, she only had visibility of the backside. As the newly inscribed words on the front of the heart sculpture came into Brandi’s view, Eric got on one knee – Brandi said YES! We knew that we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives!
