Zack and I met in 2018 and I knew he was the person I wanted making me laugh for the rest of my life. If people know anything about me, they know I love television. So when I came across Zack's profile on a dating app and he mentioned that he works on tv shows that moms like, I knew I needed to meet him. Turns out I had already seen some of the shows! Zack was extremely supportive while I was in graduate school earning my masters and specialist degrees so we knew our relationship had what it takes to stand up to challenges. And then COVID hit. We found out quickly that Zack and I were basically built for lockdown. We watched our shows, cooked, baked, and enjoyed each other's company every day. This pandemic has brought us closer and we know that we can get through anything together.
One of mine and Lea's favorite snacks are s'mores, they are just a perfect treat. One evening in April, I built a fire in our backyard fire pit, and created a s'mores platter for the two of us. While we sat under the spring sunset enjoying our snacks, I pulled out the ring, told Lea how much she meant to me and asked if she would marry me. She said yes, and we celebrated our new engagement by the fire, listening to our neighbors blasting music at their house party.
