Lorenzo and Lea met at a R&B night, Lea was there celebrating her birthday with some family and friends. Lorenzo spotted her as he walked into the club and said to his friend, " I gotta find out who she is." R Kelly's Birthday song was playing in the background and that's when he asked her to dance. After cautioning him not to spin her around to fast because she had on a short dress, they shared their first laugh together. Once the song ended, Lorenzo thanked the pretty lady for the dance and proceeded to pin a $5 dollar bill on her. Lea thought to herself, "REALLY, $5.00"!!! Lorenzo and Lea's paths would cross again on October 15th, and that is when the spark was lite, they call that day, "The Conversation". On that faithful and destined night, they talked until the club closed at 2 am. This was the beginning of Lorenzo and Lea growing into what they are now, BEST FRIENDS who will become Husband and Wife.

On that Sunday, Lea and Lorenzo along with their church family were celebrating the Church’s Pastoral Anniversary. The Secretary gave the announcements as usual, but prior to the conclusion of those announcements, she indicated that her husband had an additional announcement to be made. He then motioned for Lorenzo to come to the podium stating that Bro. Jones would be speaking. Lorenzo began to speak from 1 Corinthians chapter 13 which speaks of Love. All the while Lea is thinking to herself, “what in the world is he talking about”. Lorenzo talked of his love for the church and how he had grown since becoming a member. He also made mention of a ship needing a rudder and a navigational system to move in a desired direction, he being the ship and Lea being the other components. Lorenzo talked about him not knowing what a Soulmate was until he found his and he began quoting his favorite scripture; “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord”. It wasn’t until he spoke of a play that he and Lea performed during a Christmas program about marriage that she realized what was about to happen and how her life would soon change. Lorenzo calls Lea to the front and begins to speak his heart to her and his desire to walk the rest of his days with her. He then pulls out the ring and asks her to marry him in the presence of her mother, her daughter, and the church family, in the place she loves to be, church. Her response to him is, “you suppose to get on one knee”, his response to her, “I’ll get on two knees”, and so he did. The congregation erupts into applause, laughter, and tears as Lea says “Yes” to a lifetime with her Best Friend. #LLCoolJ’s
