Our love story began on St. Patrick’s Day 2022 … (we aren’t Irish but we love the color green and believe in good luck!) That night, we were seen dancing, laughing, drinking (sharing green Jell-O shots) and of course … flirting (although that was mostly Jake). We exchanged snapchats that night and well - the rest is as follows: The first time we “hung out” (not wanting to call it a date) we went to Wendy’s, shared an awkward “friend” fist bump and watched a scary movie (upon Lea’s request and Jake’s hesitant agreement to not seem like a wimp). The more we saw each other though, the more comfortable we got. Some of our first “dates” included: going to the monument at night to look at the stars and city lights, bowling, eating Chick-fil-a on campus, shopping, hiking and going to concerts. Jake made it official on September 14, 2022 after making homemade chicken and gnocchi. It was a busy time, Jake was working on finding his way in “the real world” -from internship, to building trails and starting to make maps in use of his degree. All the while, Lea was finishing up her last couple years of college, working hard towards her Education degree. Starting our adult lives together has been the greatest blessing. After Lea’s graduation, we moved to Gypsum, Colorado and both have amazing jobs. We have made a few memorable trips together, but the most special was our trip to Myrtle Beach where Jake proposed on the beach. It was a beautiful proposal - with the sunset and a rainbow in the background (how could this not be good luck?!) Some of our favorite things to do as we grow in our relationship: Learning new recipes, playing with our cat Kya, going on weekend trips to see family and friends, skiing, boating, paddle boarding, camping, binge-watching our favorite t.v. shows AND of course planning for our WEDDING!
