*Jack approaches Lea and her friends at a rooftop bar in Arlington* Jack: "Do you like Harry Potter?" Lea: "...Yes." Jack: "Because I adumbledore you!" Jack's confident approach caught Lea's attention. After some casual conversation, they realized they were from the same town and had mutual friends. Jack ended up with a number and a new Facebook friend.
Lea's memory of Jack grew distant and so did their texts. They reconnected many moons later through Jack's Facebook invitation to see comedian Tom Green. Their romantic evening was interrupted when they "ran into" all of Jack's friends at the show. They played their part convincingly, but Jack had already confessed that he was originally going to see this show with his friends, but when Lea agreed to go with Jack, a scheme was hatched to "unexpectedly" run into them on this date. Despite having met all of Jack's friends, Lea wanted to see him again.
Lea experiences her first Cordes family Thanksgiving. Lea filled her plate with her favorite food. Unfortunately, Lea, not a huge fan of peas, was left nearly defenseless when the peas started flying during the annual Cordes family food fight. Jack attempted to supply her with ammo from his own plate. They continued as allies later in the night, winning several rounds of bingo prizes.
The doorbell rings. Santa wobbles into the house smelling like stale bud lights as he greets all 800 members of the Civiello family. Several hours of jolly merriment follow. When Jack and Lea get a turn on Santa's lap, they both wish for a happily ever after.
<countless late nights at Bob and Edith's, rooftop bars, baseball games, Five Guys and sushi deliveries, South Lakes High School proms, weekend trips, Whiteclaw seltzers, weddings, pool days, snow days, spin classes, brunches, Sunday football, and Netflix shows later...>
Jack's foot taps nervously as the train rattles up the mountain towards the Matterhorn. He gazes out the window hoping for a clear view. As he is rehearsing his proposal, a random snowboarder turns, as if reading Jack's thoughts, and says, "I just looked at the weather camera and it's a clear sky with a perfect view." Moments later, as Jack holds Lea's hands, beginning to drop to one knee, Lea announces that she does not want to pose for any more weird pictures. After a few minutes of taking "normal" pictures, he tries again, catching Lea completely by surprise. Who knew the Matterhorn was going to be the second biggest rock she saw that day.
It means a lot to be able to share these memories with you. We look forward to creating new ones over our lifetime together. Let's party!!!
