A: Such a good question. We have no idea. It will probably be at least a year away if not more, on account of planning and money and planning and money and so on and so forth. It will most likely take place in Michigan! There is a non-zero chance that we will be married before the wedding because it would be super cool and awesome for us both to have insurance! But it won’t be official until we celebrate with family and friends. We don’t know what all that will look like yet, so… stay tuned?
A: Well, that’s three questions. But hi, I’m Amber, and that’s Lea! We met in June 2019, when both of us became part of a writing group on the website formerly known as Twitter. Lea really liked Amber's writing, and once we started talking, we... basically have not stopped talking to each other since. After a few months of getting to know each other, and some very silly mutual pining, we began dating long-distance. Amber asked Lea out in November 2019 - it was just past midnight on November 7th for them in Michigan, but for Lea in Texas, it was a little past 11 PM on November 6th. Thanks to those timezone shenanigans, we have kind of had two anniversaries for the past five years! About three years after we began dating, we moved in together; Amber moved from Michigan to Texas for us to try out living together. After a year there and a cross-country move, we are now happily living in Chicago with our three beautiful kitty cats! Lea is now a high school English teacher in Chicago Public Schools, which occasionally causes conversational confusion with its acronym (CPS). She became a teacher during the lockdown portion of the pandemic through sheer force of will, and now has a master's degree in education! Amber is currently working for their dad’s company, Connected Geek. Go check it out if you need help with anything computer-related! Amber specializes in making cool websites on platforms more accommodating to edits than this one. (Let me bold text and add links, Zola!!) Together, we play a lot of video games and co-parent our cat sons, which is another way of saying "we are a little bit boring but we are very happy together."
A: Both of us. Simultaneously. At the exact same time.
A: We're keeping our own! Not for any particular reason more than "we've had them our whole lives and are kind of attached," and also Lea is very happy being Ms. Duggan to her students!
A: We can’t help it, those are our favorite colors!! Sorry if we fooled you. Please accept this picture of our cats instead.
Yes! But only if you really want to. Here is our amazon wishlist (not to be confused with our upcoming wedding registry!) https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/26JJ2SGCWSUCF
