Lauren and Jake met in 2010 in world history class during sophomore year of high school. Jake started off by shooting spit balls at the back of Lauren’s head, which got her attention, so I guess props to you JB. He then turned sweet like a little sour patch kid and managed to get her number. The rest was… history ;) From there, many sporting events were attended to support one another. Some very fashionable outfits were worn to many school dances (see photos for a laugh). And plenty of naps were taken during senior year…thanks for capturing those Stu! They both had different paths to follow after high school, Lauren to Cal State Fullerton and Jake to baseball. Each year included many facetime dates and long baseball nights in several different states. The one consistency was that home was always California, which is where they live in the offseason and school year. Fast forward to November 28th, 2020 when Lauren was waiting very patiently ;) for a proposal. Jake took her back to Huntington Beach where they share many memories. He took her ice skating at the Paséa Hotel. They had the best time skating around while watching the sunset. They returned the skates and Jake already knew Lauren wanted a picture at the Christmas tree so he obliged (but not without arguing over which tree to go to…Jake won). That’s when he told Lauren to close her eyes and make a Christmas wish. She wished for another puppy but a proposal will do…kidding! She opened her eyes and was almost in disbelief that he was actually down on one knee. She eventually managed to say yes through all the happy tears. To top off the incredible night, Jake had their family and friends waiting at the beach to continue the celebration. It has been 10+ years of laughs, cries, and a plenty of growth for the two of them, but the journey is just beginning. Lauren and Jake are so excited to celebrate this next milestone of their relationship with you!
