After meeting at an event in college, Masha made a bold move by asking Greg to pick her up for a beach bonfire the group was going to. A couple drinks in, Masha had an idea to run into the ocean, and Greg followed. Stopping short of the water, Greg scooped up Masha, who screamed thinking he was going to throw her in. Instead, Greg lowered Masha onto her feet and they shared their first kiss. From that point on, they started going on dates and getting to know each other.
Greg wanted to wait until they both graduated and moved in together to pop the big question. After many hints and long months, he found the perfect ring and planned the proposal. Knowing how nostalgic Masha is, he asked his sister, Natalie, to help record the moment. When the day came, Greg knew he had to be very sneaky to avoid accidentally tipping off Masha, so he let her go about her day before taking her up to Lands' End to meet Natalie for a hike. Greg was very nervous, and when he saw the perfect spot, overlooking the Golden Gate, he knew it was the right moment. According to their plan, Greg asked Natalie to take a picture of him and Masha together (code for recording a video). After a few sweet words, Greg got down on one knee and Masha said "yes" before screaming "I'm engaged!!" to the Golden Gate bridge.
