If you know Owen and me, then you know we have been together for a very long time. When we first started "hanging out," our mothers were the first to notice that we were in fact dating. We were only fifteen, and I did not think that was an old enough age to begin dating. Because we never had an official first date, our anniversary is technically made up. As soon as I realized we did not have a day on which to celebrate, I decided to change that. About two years into our relationship, I made a joke to Owen that he never actually asked me to be his girlfriend so we were not actually official, to which he responded by getting out of the car, getting down on one knee, and asking me to be his girlfriend for real. I don't think anyone was surprised to find out we were engaged besides me and as many people have pointed out to me, I should've seen it coming when he took me on a helicopter ride. Any of our friends will tell you that they have known we would get married since we started dating. We've been together for basically our whole lives and because of that we are blessed to have had the opportunity to live life together and grow together during some of the most important years of life. We are beyond grateful for all of our amazing friends and family who have supported us throughout our relationship and who continue to mentor and cheer us on as we head into a new chapter of our lives. The Lord has truly blessed us in an abundance of ways and we cannot wait to celebrate our marriage with you! Thank you for being here, we hope you know you are loved by us the same way you have shown us we are loved for the past five years!
