One day in October, Matt and Hailey were introduced after church in a group of friends ... and neither of them thought anything of it. A few weeks later, that group played flag football together. And a few weeks after that, the same group had a game night. And if you asked Hailey about Matt at this point, she might've said something like "I don't know his last name." If you had asked Matt, he would've said "Oh, the pretty girl who throws a perfect spiral? Yeah I would love to get to know her better." Alas, Matt did not get his chance to get to know Hailey better because they did not see each other for two months. Call it fate or providence, then, that Matt found himself in charge of Small Groups at Northway's Young Adult Retreat. And who should sign up but ... You guessed it! The beautiful girl with the perfect spiral! So, obviously, Matt put himself and Hailey together in a small group. In the days after the retreat, Matt and Hailey's small group continued to hang out - playing Pickleball, having game nights, etc. Finally, one Wednesday, Matt called Hailey to ask her out - and she said yes! On their first date, they played putt putt and laughed a lot. A second, third, and fourth date followed and then they made it official. In the months since, they played lots of Pickleball, "worked" together at coffee shops (pretended to work and mostly talked), met each other's parents, Matt bought Hailey an OSU sweater, Hailey bought Matt a maroon pullover, and on January 3rd, Matt asked Hailey the big question - and the rest is history! We're so excited to celebrate with you! Our friends and family are so important to us - we are who we are because of your love, encouragement, friendship, and counsel. We're so grateful for you all.
