I was at my apartment, Zach was at home, we both were living in Bloomingdale, but had zero clue the other existed. My plan? Stay home, binge TV and sleep after a long day of work. Zach's plan? The same exact thing. What actually happened? Our friends happened. They convinced us each to go out to Lucky Star Bar... but we traveled in different packs at the time, so still very unaware of the other's existence. We each arrived and that's when Fate- we call her Steph Willis- stepped in. She grabbed my hand and said, "Oh my god, have you met my friend Zach?" And the rest is history
It was a Saturday, the last full day of our trip, and we were getting ready for a swanky dinner at the Cosmo. I had picked out the perfect pink satin dress, (shoutout Mari!!), to pair with my favorite combat boots. Zach had a classy purple button down and black velvet shoes that I had only seen once before. Looking back I should've taken the shoes and the fact Zach was ironing his shirt in the hotel room as a sign, but what kind of lame story would that be. We met up with Katie and Alex and headed off to the Cosmo. Zach loves the Cosmo, so I was extra excited we were finally experiencing it together. He suggests we go to the top floor to admire the chandelier, and we all follow. We get to the top, have a peak, and I am ready to eat, but Zach asks if we could take some pictures. Again, another red flag, but I was so hungry I didn't think twice. After about 5 pictures I was completely over it, and he suggested one more- a cute kiss and then be done. We take the picture, and I can say with full honesty, I blacked out once I saw him go to his knee. I do know he asked me to marry him, and I first responded with "Are you lying?" followed by a joy-filled YESS! Now we're packing up and heading to Denver to get hitched! We can't wait to see you there!
