The restaurant is in a walkable area with lots of cute shops and galleries. Some businesses close at 5pm, so arrive early if you want to explore Carmel-by-the-Sea before dinner. Street parking is permitted, but can take some time to find a spot. We have booked a shuttle from the Highlands Inn and will send that info out via email. Please dress for your comfort level - most restaurants in Carmel are what you might consider "business casual" - khakis or nice jeans for men, casual dresses or pants for women are the norm. As for timing, we will have a cocktail reception from 6:30 until about 7:15pm and then enjoy a relaxed, open-seating dinner.
Suggested arrival time at the venue is 3:00pm. Please Valet park and tell the valet you are a guest at the Roberts wedding and your valet coat will be covered. From there it was a short walk to the ceremony deck. The ceremony will begin at 3:30pm sharp.
Above all, we want our guests to be comfortable! We will have heaters and pashminas but you may need a warm layer as well. So far, we have heard that most men are planning to wear a sports coat or suit, with or without a tie, and going for the blue in some way. The lovely ladies seem to be excited about long or short dresses or pantsuits, in patterns or solids in all shades of blue or multi with some blue. As we don't have a wedding party as such, we thought it would be fun to color coordinate with all of you and lean into the coastal vibe (and our favorite color). But honestly, you do you!
Up to you, of course! We hope you will have time to enjoy this beautiful part of the country. For those in town by Thursday evening, our dear friends the Bethancourts are hosting a casual dinner. If you don’t have an email from us about Thursday dinner, please let us know. On Friday, we can meet up in small groups or check out "Things to Do" for a few suggestions to explore on your own. No formal plans for Sunday - likely a travel day for most of our family and friends.
There is not a registry and we kindly (yet most emphatically) request - please no gifts. We will be honored by your presence, whether in person or in prayer. We also would love if you can share any photos after the weekend to help us preserve the memories!
Fall in Carmel is known by locals as the "secret season" as it tends to be sunny and clear (foggiest months are June and July). Currently the forecast for the wedding weekend is high of 57 and low of 47 - layers are always best in Carmel. We will provide pashmina type wraps at the ceremony to help keep our guests warm and for you to take home.l and will also have area heaters.
