We both attended business school expecting to accelerate our careers, learn, and meet fantastic people, but neither of us guessed that we'd graduate with the gift of everlasting love. We met in a class focused on nonprofit board service and were introduced by a mutual friend. After sizing each other up, we decided to partner on a group assignment. Our first walk together was under the stars to a cafe where we got to know each other over coffee and a Word document (romantic, we know). We started connecting more frequently over the next few months. Ryan treated Layci to music themed poetry and a Mitch Hedberg themed comedy hour, and Layci treated Ryan to a delicious home cooked thanksgiving dinner that he pretended (convincingly) to enjoy. In December of 2014, Ryan asked Layci on their first date, a romantic live music performance at Space in Evanston. Our deep love for each other has only grown through three moves and countless flights during our years of distance. We're beyond thrilled to begin building our marriage and home together, and even though we can't be together in person in October, we look forward to celebrating the next stage in our journey with you virtually!
