Our moms were high school BFFs, kept in touch throughout the years and also went to each other's wedding. Although, they did not see each other often enough where as Lawrence and I could have met growing up. In March 2017 our mother's asked both Lawrence and I (separately) would we like to meet each other. We both agreed, and to make things a little more comfortable, we all set a date two weeks later to go out to lunch. We had a great time! We laughed, talked and caught up. At the end of our outing we exchanged numbers and still to this day we both say that it was the other person that asked for the number first. We continued to keep in touch and went out a few times and began to build a bond. We loved to go to Gravely Park in Virginia and walk and talk about everything.

We made our relationship official on July 26, 2018. We began to grow closer, learning more about each other, having the best times of our lives together and the best thing of all cultivating a relationship with God together and allowing him to enter into our relationship. Soon after, we began to talk about marriage and spending the rest of our lives together. On July 6, 2019 our families came together for a summer cookout. We were all eating, dancing and having a great time. Fabolous's song featuring Neyo "Make Me Better" began to play and I got really excited, rapping most of the lyrics and dancing because Lawrence and I talked about this being one of our wedding songs. What I didn't know was that song was the cue to Lawrence asking me the most important question of my life Jasmine Imani HOLT will you marry me! Of course I said YES!
