In the summer of July 2013 Shay and I met through mutual friends at my apartment. My first thought when he walked in was, "Ohhh he's cute." Although I knew Shay was there to see his friend, he oddly enough sat down beside me. As most girls do, I gushed to my friend about how handsome he was and she replied, "He thinks the same of you." EEEKK, the rest is history. Shay and I spent many months just enjoying time as friends. We hiked, listened to Allman brothers and the Greatful Dead, and traveled to Asheville for fun. Shortly after we knew we wanted more. Fast forward to March 2017 Shay decided he wanted to go on a hike while we were vacationing with his sister, her fiancé and his brother in Boone, NC. After nearly not making it up the mountain (yes, I said mountain it was a long hike) he says, "Hey Lawren, turn around,” and asked the question every girl always thinks about. The rest is history. I was ecstatic. I could not have imagined a better proposal. We look forward to our wedding day and cannot wait to have our family and friends to celebrate with us. Cheers!
